Emmanuel Rouget, Savigny Les Beaune Les Lavieres 1er Cru, 2018
Red
750ml
Label : Good Label
Level : Neck Level
Capsule : Good Capsule
The 2018 Emmanuel Rouget Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Lavières 1er Cru hails from a vintage that, despite its warmth, has yielded a wine with a more perfumed and floral bouquet than its village counterpart. Critics note scents of wilted rose petal and potpourri interwoven with red currant and cranberry fruit. The palate is described as very silky in texture, offering ample freshness without being overly complex. Some reviews highlight ultra-ripe aromatics spiced with abundant red fruit, presenting a dense palate with good balance, though perhaps a touch simple at this stage. Others find a somewhat muted nose, revealing modest notes of pure red fruit and a hint of earthiness. Crucially, the palate is silky with fine-grained tannins, showing no overt signs of the vintage's heat, with the fruit leaning towards red and tart.
Expect a pretty mid-pink purple hue. The wine is quite floral, with notes of peonies, and is stylishly ripe with a fine balance and length, concluding with subtle liquorice notes. It offers dark fruit and mineral characteristics, surprisingly balanced and almost elegant for a 2018, with pleasant dark ripe fruit.
🍴 Food Pairing: This elegant red Burgundy pairs beautifully with beef, veal, poultry, and game such as venison. Specific suggestions include dishes with mushroom sauce, poultry, and soft cheeses.
🥂 Event Suggestion: This refined and balanced Pinot Noir is an excellent choice for a sophisticated dinner, perhaps featuring roasted poultry or a delicate veal dish. Its silky texture and charming floral notes make it a delightful addition to any special occasion. 【A silky, elegant 1er Cru Pinot Noir from a warm vintage, showcasing floral notes and fine-grained tannins.】
