The Jean Chartron Savigny-les-Beaune Blanc 2023 is a rare white Burgundy, as white wines account for only 3.5% of the village's total production. The Jean Chartron estate, founded in 1859, is a historic name in Burgundy, known for its environmentally respectful approach, practicing uncertified organic farming since 2004.
【Rarity and elegance from a historic Burgundy estate】 The 2023 vintage is described as harmonious and generous, already appealing with good aging potential, savourable until around 2031. It reveals a lovely pale yellow hue, sometimes with golden glints. The aromatic bouquet opens with notes of yellow fruit, delicate floral touches, and a characteristic minerality. On the palate, it offers a lively and taut attack, followed by delicious aromas of fruit and white flowers, supported by a distinctive mineral backbone and refreshing acidity, leading to a beautifully long finish. Subtle brioche and oak notes complement the Chardonnay without overpowering it.
🍴 Food Pairing: This white wine pairs wonderfully with seafood, such as shellfish or grilled and pan-fried fish. It beautifully enhances starters like fish terrine, trout tart, or salmon puff pastry. It's also delicious as an aperitif or alongside goat's cheeses, as well as hard cheeses like Comté or Gruyère. Roasted sea bass with lemon-butter sauce and spring vegetables would be an excellent match.
🥂 Event Suggestions: Perfect as an elegant aperitif, for a seafood dinner, or a casual gathering with friends enjoying cheese. Its rarity also makes it a special gift for Burgundy enthusiasts.
