FEATURES
The 2000 Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie is considered one of the finest efforts of its vintage, offering a forward, sexy style with more oomph than many others from that year. It presents the hallmark complexity of the estate, with a perfumed bouquet of raspberry, game, flowers, olives, and pepper. On the palate, it's full-bodied, voluptuously textured, and seamless, with excellent purity, low acidity, and tons of charm. Some critics note a meaty, smoky, earthy, slightly rustic red fruit profile with peppery spices and green olive accents. While some found it a bit lean and thin initially, it can open up beautifully with air, revealing more integration and depth. This wine is fully mature and is recommended for drinking from 2023-2030.
🍴 Food Pairing: This Côte-Rôtie is a natural partner for lamb. Its savory and peppery notes would also complement roasted poultry, grilled pork, or dishes featuring mushrooms and earthy flavors.
🥂 Fit for Event: This wine is ideal for a sophisticated dinner party or a gathering of Rhône wine aficionados. It's a wine that invites contemplation and discussion, perfect for showcasing the elegance and complexity of a well-aged Syrah. 【One of the finest efforts of the 2000 vintage.】
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jamet is a renowned wine producer located in Ampuis, at the heart of the northern Rhône wine region in France, celebrated for its traditional Cote Rotie wines. The estate spans about seven hectares (17 acres) of vineyards, scattered across small plots in the Côte Brune and Côte Blonde areas of Côte Rotie. Predominantly, the vineyards are planted with Syrah, complemented by minor plantings of Marsanne, Viognier, and Roussanne. Founded by Joseph Jamet in 1950. By 1976, Domaine Jamet started bottling its own wines. After Joseph retired, his sons Jean-Luc and Jean-Paul ran the estate. Currently, Jean-Paul and Corinne Jamet oversee the domaine, joined by their son Loïc since 2015.
