Gallety, Cotes Du Vivarais Clos Latin, 2020
Red
750ml
Label : Good Label
Level : Neck Level
Capsule : Good Capsule
The 2020 Gallety Côtes du Vivarais Clos Latin is a profound expression of its terroir, capturing the rugged beauty and sun-drenched character of the Southern Rhône. This exquisite red wine unfolds with elegant intensity, revealing layers of dark forest fruits, crushed black cherries, and a complex whisper of wild garrigue. Its structure is both precise and velvet-textured, reflecting a masterful balance between power and finesse, culminating in fine-grained tannins and a mineral-driven finish. The nose offers gorgeous, lifted aromas of black pepper, briny black olive, and violets, blending the freshness of Syrah with the earthiness and concentration of Southern Rhône Grenache. The 2020 vintage was notably early, a result of a hot and dry summer, yielding excellent wines that demanded skill from winemakers. Domaine Gallety, situated at the northern gateway of the Southern Rhône, has been farming organically since 1979. 【Profound expression of Côtes du Vivarais, balancing power and finesse with organic farming since 1979.】
Food pairing suggestions: This versatile red is perfect with herb-crusted rack of lamb with a red wine reduction, slow-braised wild boar ragu over pappardelle, roasted squab with forest mushroom risotto, or aged Comte cheese with honeycomb and toasted walnuts.
Event suggestions: An excellent choice for a rustic gourmet meal, a gathering with friends, or as a discovery wine for those exploring lesser-known Rhône appellations. Its vibrant character makes it enjoyable now or suitable for cellaring until 2035.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Gallety hails from the lesser-known AOP Côtes du Vivarais, one of the cooler appellations in the southern Rhône. They primarily cultivate Syrah and Grenache. Founded in Côtes du Vivarais in 1974, the estate was established by Alain Gallety and his father. Today, Alain and his son, Davie-Alexandre, jointly manage Domaine Gallety.
