FEATURES
The 2011 vintage in Châteauneuf-du-Pape was marked by exceptional harvest conditions, with a glorious Indian summer in September allowing grapes to reach optimal maturity. This year was characterized by finesse rather than sheer power, benefiting from optimal sunlight exposure and well-distributed rainfall. Yields returned to normal levels after several years of lower production. The "Hommage à Jacques Perrin" cuvée is exclusively produced in top vintages, underscoring its exceptional quality.
This wine is described as massive and powerful, boasting serious extract and concentration. It gradually reveals complex, gamey notes of blueberry, blackberry, blood, licorice, garrigue, and smoke. It's a full-bodied, layered, and brilliantly textured effort that skillfully conceals its tannic structure beneath an abundance of fruit. Other tasting notes highlight black and blue fruits, violets, Asian spices, and a rounded, seductive texture with sweet tannins. Some detect delicate aromas of Provençal herbs, strawberry fruit, and garrigue, leading to an intense palate of cassis and red fruit with a racy finish. Dark fruits, barnyard, and leather notes contribute to a long, dense, and somewhat sweet finish. Red fruits dominate the nose, while the palate offers nuances of spice, bright cherries, and plums, enveloped by soft tannins and balanced acidity. 【Only made in top vintages and a cellar selection from the same plot of vines, known for its massive power and concentration.】
🍴 Food Pairing: This robust red wine is an ideal companion for a big steak or a hearty roast.
🥂 Fit for Event: The 2011 Hommage à Jacques Perrin is remarkably approachable for its age, yet possesses the structure to evolve for another two to three decades. It's an excellent choice for a significant celebration, a special dinner, or as a centerpiece for a grand meal.
