Hubert Lamy, Puligny Montrachet Les Tremblots, 2023
The 2023 Domaine Hubert Lamy Puligny-Montrachet Les Tremblots is a compelling white Burgundy from a historic family estate, with vines largely planted between 1970 and 1975, complemented by younger vines from high-density plantings. Despite a challenging growing season in 2023, Olivier Lamy has crafted a range of wines with pronounced dry extract, firm structure, and heightened freshness. This particular vintage has garnered critical acclaim, receiving 91 points from both Wine Advocate and Vinous.
On the nose, this wine offers a nuanced bouquet of white flowers, pear, orange oil, and white peach, with a fresh profile of green apple and citronella. The palate is medium-bodied and taut, charged with electric acidity, and concludes with a searingly saline finish, showcasing excellent tension and persistence. It is tightly wound, suggesting significant aging potential, with a recommended drinking window from 2028-2034.
Food pairing suggestions: This elegant Chardonnay is an excellent match for poultry dishes like roasted chicken or turkey. It also pairs beautifully with rich seafood, creamy pasta dishes, or mature hard cheeses.
Event suggestions: Ideal for a sophisticated dinner party, a special occasion requiring a fine white Burgundy, or for those looking to cellar a promising wine for future enjoyment and development.

BACKGROUND
Domaine Hubert Lamy is a wine estate based in Saint-Aubin, Burgundy, France, producing well-regarded wines from that appellation. The majority of the domaine vineyards are in Saint-Aubin, with around two-thirds of the holdings are given to Chardonnay and the remaining third, Pinot Noir. The domain was established in 1973, but the Lamy family history of vine growing in Saint-Aubin dates back to 1640. Since setting up, Hubert Lamy has passed management of the domaine onto his son Olivier Lamy and his wife Karine.
