🏰 The 2020 Chateau de Pibarnon Bandol Rouge is a 【modern, sexy Bandol representative with charmer qualities, elegant and robust at once】. This expressive red wine, a blend of 90% Mourvèdre and 10% Grenache, matures on calcareous terraced vineyard sites and is aged for 20 months in barrique. The 2020 vintage is noted for its approachability and unifying character, with climatic conditions allowing for fine ripeness while preserving freshness. It offers an ethereal bouquet of lavender, roses, and juniper, hovering above dark fruit aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and blackberries, complemented by blood orange and a hint of vanilla. The palate is a seductive blend of ripe black cherry, crisp plum, and liquorice, with striking acidity and present tannins, yet elegant with cool freshness and beautiful length.
🍴 This Bandol Rouge is an excellent match for characterful Mediterranean cuisine. Pair it with rib eye medium rare with rosemary butter, grilled lamb rack with Mediterranean herbs, wild mushroom ragout, or slow-cooked beef. It also harmonizes beautifully with aged hard cheeses. For an Asian pairing, consider Cantonese roast duck or a rich, savory braised pork belly.
🥂 Perfect for gastronomic meals, autumn and winter dinners, or to accompany a carefully prepared Sunday roast. It shines when shared among wine lovers who appreciate structured, age-worthy reds, and can be enjoyed now after decanting, or cellared for 10 to 15 years or more.
BACKGROUND
