White
750ml
Label : Good Label
Level : Neck Level
Capsule : Good Capsule
The 2019 Stéphane Bernaudeau Les Onglés Vin de France Blanc is a highly sought-after white wine from the Loire Valley, crafted by a winemaker known for his expertise in elite-level Chenin Blanc. Only a limited number of bottles are produced from approximately three hectares, making it a rare find. This wine is considered an entry point into Bernaudeau's collection, grown on soils rich in slate and limestone. It is fermented in used barrels and aged on the lees for 12 months. The vineyard is susceptible to frost, further limiting its quantity.
Tasting Notes: Expect a polished white wine with a clear sense of place. On the nose, it can initially present as wild and somewhat metallic, with a touch of natural wine character, which quickly evolves with air to reveal yellow stone fruit, herbs, and slightly exotic fruit, along with quince and a hint of stone. The palate offers notes of quince, pear, apple, white flowers, and light honeyed undertones. It is described as acidic and well-rounded.
Food Pairing: This is a food-friendly wine. It pairs well with chicken and turkey. Consider East/West pairings such as roasted chicken with herbs, pan-seared scallops, or a delicate fish preparation. For Asian cuisine, it would complement steamed fish with ginger and spring onions or light dim sum.
Event Suggestions: 【A rare and highly allocated wine】, perfect for a special dinner with discerning wine enthusiasts or as a thoughtful gift for a collector. Its evolving aromatic profile makes it an excellent choice for a contemplative evening.
