Michel Lafarge, Volnay Vendanges Selectionnees, 1998
The 1998 Michel Lafarge Volnay Vendanges Selectionnees embodies the quintessential elegance of Volnay, a village renowned for its Pinot Noir. Michel Lafarge is widely regarded as a 【 benchmark producer of Volnay known for purity and finesse 】. This wine is celebrated for its pure fruit and berry profile, offering a very aromatic, light frame with a narrow yet fresh structure. Expect a complex bouquet featuring earthy, forest floor notes, vibrant red fruits like strawberry and raspberry, complemented by hints of oak, tobacco, and clove. Further nuances of blackberry, plum, acai, pepper, menthol, rosemary, honeysuckle, perfume, orange peel, raisin, and rhubarb contribute to its intricate character. It's a wine that promises intensity without heaviness, with a haunting perfume and a firm structure that allows for extended aging, offering exhilarating elegance.
🍴 This exquisite red Burgundy pairs beautifully with classic East/West dishes such as roasted duck, goose, or other game birds. It also complements mushroom-based dishes or a delicate beef carpaccio.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a special anniversary celebration, or a quiet evening dedicated to appreciating a fine, evolving Burgundy.
