FEATURES
The 1995 Domaine Jamet Cote Rotie is a powerful and structured red wine from the Northern Rhône, made entirely from Syrah grapes. The 1995 vintage was excellent for the Rhône Valley, with a hot, dry summer ripening the fruit beautifully despite an initial challenging start. This wine can display a remarkably youthful light purple to an opaque purple color. The nose is complex and enthralling, offering notes of grilled meat, barbecue beef, garrigue, kirsch, iron, spice, charcoal, roast beef, bright blueberries, soy, black pepper, plum, violets, and crushed rock. On the palate, it is full-bodied with ripe, peppery cherries and black raspberries, showcasing engaging richness and a beautifully polished, fresh character. It boasts fabulous concentration, massive body, and thick, viscous, highly-extracted flavors that are pure and mouth-coating. While some find it in its prime drinking stage, others note it's at its peak or slightly past, yet still a treat with potential to age further. The finish can last for minutes. 【Spectacular concentration and massive body】
Food Pairing: This robust Cote Rotie is a superb match for lamb, beef, poultry, and game meats such as deer and venison. Its savory and meaty notes also make it ideal with grilled meats and roast beef.
Event Suggestions: This is a truly special occasion wine, perfect for a celebratory dinner, a serious wine tasting, or a gathering of connoisseurs. Its age and complexity demand appreciation, making it suitable for moments when you want to impress or indulge.
Serving Advice: Given its age, this 1995 Cote Rotie will benefit from careful handling. Stand the bottle upright for several days before serving to allow any sediment to settle. Decanting is highly recommended to separate sediment and allow the wine to breathe, revealing its full aromatic complexity. Serve at around 16-18°C (60-64°F).
