FEATURES
Domaine Jamet is renowned for its Côte-Rôtie wines, crafted from 100% Syrah grapes grown across twenty parcels on various types of schist soils. The 1994 vintage of Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie is described as a rich, dense red, marked by expressive aromas and a solid texture.
【A synthesis of the various terroirs cultivated by the domaine, a marvel.】 This wine is bursting with cassis, spice, licorice, and mineral flavors. It was noted as being hard in its youth but well-knit, promising fine development with age. Jamet's Côte-Rôtie typically undergoes whole bunch fermentation and a long maceration, followed by 22 months of maturation in barrels, with 15% new oak. These wines are known for their immense aging potential, often requiring a minimum of five years of cellaring to fully express their refined texture and powerful aromas.
🍴 Food Pairing: Given its rich and dense profile with spice and cassis notes, the 1994 Jamet Côte-Rôtie would pair beautifully with roasted lamb, venison, or other game meats. For a Western pairing, consider a classic steak frites or a hearty beef stew. For Eastern cuisine, it would complement dishes like Cantonese braised beef brisket, Sichuan-style lamb, or rich, savory mushroom hot pot.
🥂 Event Suggestions: This mature Côte-Rôtie is ideal for a serious wine collector's tasting, a special occasion celebrating a milestone, or an intimate dinner where a powerful and complex red wine is desired. Its aging potential suggests it's a wine to be savored and appreciated for its developed character.
