FEATURES
Château Armens, acquired by Alexandre de Malet Roquefort in 1999, saw significant investment in modern vinification techniques. La Fleur d'Armens is the estate's second wine, a harmonious Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. The 2001 vintage, despite a cool summer, benefited from a dry October, yielding wines with fresh aromatic fruit, intensity, and balance.
This mature Bordeaux blend presents a complex nose of concentrated red fruits and spices, evolving into vanilla and leather with age. On the palate, it's well-balanced, rich, and opulent, with fine tannins that are still integrating. Expect notes of oak, chocolate, tobacco, plum, cassis, black cherry, earthy undertones, smoke, cinnamon, mint, and anise.
Food pairing suggestions: Excellent with small game, beef, lamb, poultry, and venison.
Event suggestions: Ideal for a sophisticated dinner, a special celebration, or any occasion calling for a classic, mature Bordeaux. As a mature 2001 vintage, handle gently to avoid disturbing sediment. Decanting for 30-60 minutes is recommended to allow the wine to open up and separate from any natural deposits. Check the cork carefully before opening.
