The 1994 vintage for France saw some hits, particularly in Alsace, though Bordeaux and Burgundy had mixed results. This Montus Cuvée Prestige is described as having an atypical, generous character, with good volume and depth, and subtle, complex fruit. It is a rich, opulent wine. Tasting notes often include mulberries, dark plums, peppercorns, bark, sweet spices, tobacco, oak, chocolate, leather, earthy, smoke, and black fruit. It is full-bodied with fine tannins, ample, and has a velvety texture with a lift of peppercorns bringing vitality. The wine is known for its powerful structure, richness of fruit and wood, deep tannins, and profound age-ability.
🍴 Food Pairing: This bold and structured red wine is a beautiful accompaniment to red meat, especially lamb and venison. It also pairs well with blue cheese, desserts with chocolate and red fruit, and exotic cuisine.
