Coche Dury, Puligny Montrachet Les Enseigneres, 2004
The 2004 Coche Dury Puligny Montrachet Les Enseigneres comes from a Burgundy vintage that, despite some climatic challenges, yielded wines of distinctive attributes. Jean-François Coche-Dury is a revered figure in white winemaking, known for his inimitable style that reinforces the natural expression of the terroir. This wine is exceptionally fresh and youthful, with primary notes of floral and ripe citrus fruit. It offers good vibrancy and volume, displaying more elegance and finesse than is typical for this particular wine. Tasting notes frequently highlight roasted almonds, hazelnuts, and a distinct minerality, alongside a persistent and controlled texture. Some describe a Meursault-like, walnut-inspired entry, leading to an elegant and suave finish with understated almond and hazelnut notes. Common descriptors also include butter, oak, vanilla, lemon, lime, smoke, and flint.
For food pairings, this versatile white Burgundy complements chicken and turkey dishes, as well as more refined options like sole fillet with artichokes, turbot with mustard, or skate with black butter. It also pairs beautifully with shellfish, pasta, rich fish (like salmon or tuna), mild and soft cheeses, and cured meats.
This rare and highly sought-after wine is perfect for special occasions or for showcasing the pinnacle of white 布根地. 【Jean-François Coche-Dury's inimitable style creates pure and elegant wines whose finesse and persistency are quite remarkable, making them highly sought after by connoisseurs.】
