The 1990 Boisson Vadot Meursault Genevrieres 1er Cru is a testament to the enduring quality of white Burgundy from this esteemed estate. Now under the capable hands of Pierre and Anne Boisson, the winery continues its tradition of meticulous vineyard management and low-intervention winemaking, allowing the unique terroir of Genevrières to shine. This Premier Cru, crafted entirely from Chardonnay, reveals a complex bouquet of almonds and toast, interwoven with mineral and honeyed notes, and a refreshing hint of lime citrus. On the palate, it's often described as having a chiselled, precise minerality, vibrant acidity, and a succulent fruit core with a nutty, layered texture, culminating in an impressive length. 【Impressive ageing potential and complex minerality】 This wine is a superb candidate for further cellaring, capable of evolving beautifully for 15 to 20 years, depending on the vintage's success.
Food Pairing: This elegant Meursault is a perfect match for rich and oily fish dishes, such as salmon salad with broad beans and snow peas. It also harmonizes beautifully with shellfish, pasta, other rich fish like tuna, mild and soft cheeses, and cured meats.
Event Suggestion: This 1990 Meursault Genevrieres 1er Cru is ideal for a significant anniversary celebration, a sophisticated dinner party featuring gourmet seafood, or as a prized addition to a serious Burgundy tasting. Its maturity and complexity make it a truly special pour.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Pierre Boisson/Anne Boisson is a family winery. The winery is run by father Bernard (retired in 2016), son Pierre and daughter Anne. Although it is the same winery, the wines produced by the three people will be labeled separately. on their respective names. They jointly own 8.5 hectares of land around the Cote de Beaune, and the vineyard's terroir is wet stone and flint, giving the grapes more minerality.
