The 2020 Coche-Dury Meursault is a highly acclaimed white Burgundy, described as a 'terrific rendition of this benchmark cuvée' by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, earning a score of 93 points. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and unusually high temperatures, the 2020 Burgundy vintage is largely considered excellent. This Chardonnay is known for its buttery and complex style. 【Benchmark Cuvée】
Tasting notes reveal a beautiful wine unwinding with scents of crisp Anjou pear, lemon zest, freshly baked bread, blanched almonds, pastry cream, and apple blossom. It is medium to full-bodied, satiny, and layered, with a textural attack that transitions into a fleshy, precise mid-palate animated by racy acids, concluding with a long, mouthwatering finish. The domaine, now led by Raphael Coche, continues to produce wines of remarkable intensity, texture, and longevity, with a focus on allowing site expression to come forward with greater clarity.
Food Pairing: This Meursault pairs wonderfully with chicken and turkey. Its rich, layered textures and vibrant acidity also make it a compelling option for a variety of poultry dishes and creamy sauces.
Event Suggestions: Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a celebratory meal, or as a special gift for a Burgundy enthusiast. It's ready to drink now but has the potential to age further.
