The 1986 vintage is widely regarded as a classic Médoc vintage, particularly praised for its excellent tannic structure and remarkable aging potential. The Cabernet Sauvignons from this year were superb, and the best wines, like this Chateau Marquis de Terme, are still in great form today, exhibiting a straightforward structure, beautiful tertiary aromas, and impressive aeration. This Fourth Growth Margaux has evolved into a complex and rewarding experience. Expect initial notes of black and red fruit, giving way to leather and a more floral aroma as it opens up. Some tasters have noted earthy gravel, rust, dry black fruits, and old cabinet on the nose, with a matured palate filled with undergrowth. 【A Fourth Growth Margaux from a classic vintage with excellent aging potential】
This 1986 Chateau Marquis de Terme is an ideal choice for a sophisticated dinner party, a milestone birthday celebration, or as a cherished gift for a Bordeaux enthusiast. It's a wine that speaks of history and tradition.
When preparing to enjoy this mature Bordeaux, handle the bottle with care, as the cork and capsule may be delicate. A two-pronged ah-so opener or a Durand is recommended. Decanting is advisable to allow the wine to breathe and to separate any sediment. A decanting period of 1 to 2 hours should be sufficient to allow its complex aromas to fully unfurl. Serve at a cellar temperature of 17-18°C (62-64°F) in Bordeaux-specific glassware to enhance the aromatic experience.
🍴 This elegant red Bordeaux pairs beautifully with robust dishes. Consider grilled lamb chops with rosemary, roast duck with a rich porcini mushroom sauce, or a selection of mature cheeses such as Comté, Mimolette, or Brie de Meaux. Beef and venison dishes are also excellent choices.
🥂 Perfect for a formal dinner, a significant anniversary, or a gathering of serious wine collectors.

The vineyard covers 40 hectares, planted predominantly with Cabernet Sauvignon, along with Merlot and Petit Verdot. The terroir consists of classic Margaux gravel soils, which provide excellent drainage and heat retention.
