The Taittinger Prélude Grands Crus, referred to here as "Prelude Cuvee Lan 2000" with a vintage of 2000, is a non-vintage Champagne crafted exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards. It's a harmonious blend of 50% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and 50% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims. This cuvée undergoes an extended aging period of five years on its lees, significantly surpassing the minimum requirements, which contributes to its enhanced body and aromatic complexity. It is celebrated for its exceptional balance of freshness and expressive aromatics. 【Produced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards and aged on lees four times longer than required by AOC law】.
On the nose, it presents a brilliant, pale yellow colour with silvery reflections. Subtle and fresh, it offers mineral aromas that gracefully transition into notes of elderflowers and spicy cinnamon. The palate is clean and lively, initially dominated by fresh citrus and white peaches in syrup, gradually evolving into a more full-bodied, round, and silky texture with a rich, lingering finish. Hints of brioche and apple pie can also be detected.
This Champagne makes an excellent accompaniment to classic seafood dishes. It pairs beautifully with oysters, blini topped with smoked salmon and caviar, and scallops.
The Taittinger Prélude Grands Crus is an excellent aperitif and is perfectly suited for celebrations, elegant dinners, or as a sophisticated start to any meal.
