FEATURES
The 2006 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Rosé is a truly exceptional vintage, crafted only in the finest years. The 2006 growing season was marked by a hot year overall, with a variable summer that included exceptionally hot periods and storms in July, followed by renewed heat in September. This rosé Champagne is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, exclusively from 100% Grand Cru vineyards, with 12-15% of the Pinot Noir incorporated as still red wine from Bouzy. It spent a remarkable ten years on its lees, contributing to its complexity and aging potential, and is noted by critics as drinking beautifully now with excellent prospects for further cellaring.
This Champagne displays a deep pink color with extraordinarily delicate bubbles and a fine, creamy mousse. The nose is complex and refined, offering intense aromas of wild strawberries, morello cherries, black currants, fresh almonds, licorice, lemon, white peach, red berries, toast, roasted nuts, butter, brioche, cinnamon stick, clove, orange peel, and caraway seed. On the palate, it is rich, structured, and full-bodied, with concentrated flavors of cherries-in-syrup, dried strawberry, white peach, toasted hazelnut, pastry, candied ginger, lemon curd, pink citrus, raspberry, and pear. It culminates in a long, creamy, elegant, and energetic finish, showcasing excellent balance and freshness.
Food pairing suggestions: This exquisite rosé Champagne is a versatile companion for a range of dishes. It pairs wonderfully with light cured meats, veal, pork dishes, and ribs. For main courses, consider pigeon or lamb cooked pink. It also shines with fruit salads, berry desserts, baked pears, or red fruit gratins. Meaty and oily fish are also a good match.
Event suggestions: The Comtes de Champagne Rosé 2006 is a wine for celebrations and ceremonial occasions, perfect for making any moment feel truly special. Its elegance and depth make it an ideal choice for significant anniversaries, milestone birthdays, or as a luxurious centerpiece for a sophisticated dinner. It's also considered a perfect partner to the Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs. 【Made from 100% Grand Cru grapes and produced only in exceptional years】
