FEATURES
The 2009 Olivier Bernstein Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru hails from an exceptionally good vintage in Burgundy, characterized by an unseasonably warm spring that led to early budburst and flowering. Olivier Bernstein, though a relative newcomer, quickly made a significant impact, with his inaugural 2007 vintage earning widespread critical acclaim. The 2009 Charmes-Chambertin is celebrated for its beautifully structured profile and rich, luscious fruit. Critics have noted that for the 2009 vintage, the overall vintage character often overshadows the individual cru, suggesting these wines possess remarkable longevity. Bernstein's unwavering commitment is to produce wines of the highest possible quality, aiming for elegance, sensuality, and refinement. 【 Outstanding 2009 vintage producing beautifully structured wines with rich, luscious fruit 】. Tasting Notes: This wine offers deep aromas and flavors of black and redcurrant, smoked meat, and alluring oak spices, with a faintly liqueur-like quality. It is notably rich and ripe, yet maintains a good verve despite its density, culminating in a long, smooth finish supported by suave, fine-grained tannins. Expect a vibrant color and an ultra-opulent bouquet, sensual and harmonious, with a subtle dusting of tannin. The nose is deeply crimson, very heady, and charming, revealing mocha, coffee, and blueberry liqueur, leading to rich, intense, and dense flavors with excellent power, weight, and a remarkably persistent, textured mouthfeel. Some tasters also find a ripe and inviting nose with dark red fruit, a hint of sweetness, and a subtle green edge, with a palate that feels lighter and less dense than anticipated, showing herbal lift and a touch of oak. Food Pairing: This exquisite Grand Cru Pinot Noir is an ideal match for classic dishes such as duck, goose, and various game birds. Its complexity and richness also complement roasted lamb or mushroom-based dishes. Event Suggestions: Enjoyable early but with excellent keeping potential. Its elegance and early equilibrium make it a fascinating choice. Perfect for a celebratory dinner, a special anniversary, or for collectors seeking a superbly succulent expression of Charmes-Chambertin from a great vintage.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Pierre Boisson/Anne Boisson is a family winery. The winery is run by father Bernard (retired in 2016), son Pierre and daughter Anne. Although it is the same winery, the wines produced by the three people will be labeled separately. on their respective names. They jointly own 8.5 hectares of land around the Cote de Beaune, and the vineyard's terroir is wet stone and flint, giving the grapes more minerality.
