Morgane Turlier's Pangea Vin de France 2023 is crafted by one of Jura's most promising young winemakers. Morgane discovered her passion for wine through a viticulture and oenology program focused on organic farming and minimalist winemaking, and honed her skills during an internship at Domaine des Cavarodes. This Pangea comes from old vines, some nearly a century old, planted on the clayey, gravelly soils of Cramans in Jura. It's a Trousseau-led blend with smaller proportions of Poulsard and Pinot Noir. The hand-harvested clusters undergo spontaneous fermentation with a four-week maceration using an "infusion" method, followed by seven months of aging on lees in used barrels. This polished red wine offers notes of wild strawberry, cherry, herbs, spice, and light earthy undertones. Some tasters also detect cocoa, minerals, coffee, and subtle oaky notes. The palate is fresh and medium-bodied, characterized by fine tannins and a clean finish.
