FEATURES
The 2023 Koji et Jae Hwa Bourgogne Pinot Noir La Violette Rouge is a rare and highly sought-after Pinot Noir from Domaine Koji et Jae Hwa's biodynamic 'La Violette' vineyard in Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. This micro-cuvée, with only around 1,861 bottles produced, showcases exceptional care in its crafting. The vineyard, situated at 300 to 400 meters with limestone and clay soils, contributes to the wine's natural freshness and aromatic lift. The winemaking approach is restrained, featuring gentle extraction, thoughtful use of whole clusters, and minimal oak influence, with aging partly in ceramic jars and partly in 225L fûts.
【 A unicorn winery in high demand, producing a micro-cuvée of exceptional quality 】. This Pinot Noir presents a bright ruby hue. The nose is lifted and expressive, offering pure red berry vibrancy, sweet florals like violets, red cherry, raspberry, and subtle smoky-meaty nuances, along with a fine wash of spice and a purity that feels almost weightless. On the palate, it is delicate yet layered, precise, energetic, and quietly structured, with silky tannins and lively acidity. Red fruit dominates, with cherry, raspberry, licorice, mineral freshness, and a long spice finish. It's described as having a clarity and finesse that sets it apart, drinking at a 1er cru level.
🍴 Food Pairing: This elegant Burgundy Pinot Noir is perfect for refined palates. It would pair beautifully with roasted poultry, duck breast, mushroom risotto, or delicate charcuterie. Its vibrant acidity and silky tannins also make it a good match for lighter game dishes.
