Leflaive, Puligny Montrachet Les Folatieres 1er Cru, 2006
🏰Domaine Leflaive's Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru 2006 is a 【benchmark white Burgundy, renowned for its purity, intensity, and ability to express the intricate minerality of its prestigious terroir, even in a ripe vintage like 2006】. Domaine Leflaive is a highly regarded producer in Puligny-Montrachet, known for its meticulous biodynamic farming and traditional winemaking. The 2006 vintage was generally ripe, and this wine shows an "extravagant and exotic profile" with notes of very ripe apples, peaches, honeysuckle, honeycomb, and chalky soil tones. It offers good mid-palate stuffing, fine focus, complexity, and a lemon oil note on the finish.
🍴 This luxurious white Burgundy is ideal with rich fish like pan-seared halibut or sea bass, roasted poultry in cream sauces, lobster, scallops, or truffle-infused dishes. It also pairs beautifully with aged Comté or Gruyère cheese.
🥂 A luxurious choice for a celebratory meal or a serious white Burgundy tasting, best enjoyed with elegant, rich cuisine. The 2006 vintage for white Burgundy can be variable. While this wine has shown good aging potential, it is a mature white wine. Be mindful of the cork and potential for evolved characteristics. It is recommended to drink up if you have it.
