FEATURES
Laurent-Perrier's Grand Siècle Iteration N°27 is a non-vintage Champagne, a true 【masterpiece of blending from three outstanding Grand Cru vintages, achieving a level of perfection greater than any single year】. This cuvée harmoniously unites 65% from 2015, 25% from 2013, and 10% from 2012, embodying the house's philosophy to recreate the 'perfect year' that nature alone could never deliver. The blend consists of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, exclusively sourced from eight Grand Cru villages, and undergoes at least 10 years of aging on lees, contributing to its remarkable complexity and depth. Since 1959, Grand Siècle has been released only 27 times in bottle, underscoring its exclusivity. Critics have lauded this iteration, with James Suckling awarding it 99 points and Jeb Dunnuck 98 points.
On the nose, it presents a layered and energetic bouquet of honeysuckle, white flowers, candied lemon, ripe pear, dried apricot, and fresh almond, evolving into notes of hazelnut, pastry, honey, and toasted bread, all underpinned by mineral impressions of chalk, wet stone, and iodine. The palate is fresh and vibrant, expanding with ripe fruit, candied citrus, and hazelnut, offering a smooth, silky texture with a precise, pillowy mousse and a long, harmonious finish with refined minerality.
Food pairing suggestions: This Champagne is unusually versatile at the table, capable of accompanying raw shellfish, risotto, refined white meat, and restrained truffle dishes. It also pairs beautifully with stuffed avocados and spicy tuna, or elevated seafood.
Event suggestions: Grand Siècle N°27 is a statement Champagne perfect for extraordinary moments, best enjoyed during a thoughtful tasting sequence or as the highlight of a festive menu and special celebrations.
