FEATURES
The 2024 vintage for Domaine Leflaive's Meursault Sous Le Dos D' Ane 1er Cru was undeniably challenging, marked by record rainfall and persistent humidity that led to significant mildew pressure and impacted yields. Despite these difficulties, the quality of the harvested grapes came as a pleasant surprise, promising wines of freshness and radiance. The vineyard, situated on a slope above Perrières with thin, marly soil and limestone bedrock, benefits from excellent morning sunlight exposure. Domaine Leflaive employs biodynamic practices, with manual harvesting and meticulous grape sorting. The wine undergoes aging for 12 months in barrels (with 22% new oak) followed by 6-10 months in stainless steel tanks on fine lees.
This Chardonnay typically presents a beautiful golden-green colour. The nose reveals elegant aromas of white flowers, citrus, honey, and spices. On the palate, it offers a fresh attack of lemon zest, creating a bright and mouthwatering effect. Tasting notes from previous vintages suggest a profile rich in butter, oak, vanilla, minerals, and stone, alongside citrus, peach, apple, and pear notes, with hints of toast and brioche from aging. This wine is expected to be best enjoyed between 2027 and 2036.
🍴 This exquisite white 布根地 (Burgundy) pairs wonderfully with grilled shellfish, foie gras, or blue cheese. It is also an excellent match for oysters, poultry in onion sauce, pasta, rich fish like salmon or tuna, and mild, soft cheeses.
🥂 As an allocated wine with limited availability, the 2024 Meursault Sous Le Dos D' Ane 1er Cru is a coveted bottle for collectors and enthusiasts of fine white Burgundy. It's perfect for special occasions, showcasing the resilience and meticulous craftsmanship of Domaine Leflaive in a challenging vintage.
