Bruno Clair, Marsannay La Charme Aux Prêtres, 2020
The 2020 vintage for Bruno Clair's Marsannay La Charme aux Prêtres saw a reduced yield in reds, approximately 20-40% less compared to the 2017 and 2018 vintages, yet the wines exhibit excellent balance and acidity. This particular Marsannay, with vines around 40 years old, was first blended in 2018. It presents a luminous ruby hue with aromas of fresh red fruit, a subtle floral lift, gentle poultry notes, and chalky mineral undertones, leading to crunchy red fruits on the palate. Some tasters have also noted wild raspberries, violets, vanilla, coconut, bacon, and new oak, alongside high acidity and tannins. 【Refined expression of Marsannay with notable balance and acidity in the 2020 vintage】
🍴 This versatile red pairs beautifully with poultry or mushroom dishes. Consider serving it with Coq au Vin, duck with mushrooms, roast chicken with herbs, or a light pork terrine.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a celebratory meal with friends, or an evening where a refined and expressive Burgundy is desired.
