The 2021 vintage for Burgundy was a mixed bag due to unpredictable weather, but Bruno Clair's Marsannay reds appear to be in very good shape, with an average yield of 20 hl/ha. This particular Marsannay is noted for its refreshing and tasty Pinot Noir character, with moderate acidity and dark fruit flavours. Some critics found it to outperform expectations for the vintage and terroir, showing a feminine quality with sour cherry notes and a mineral streak, akin to a Chambolle Musigny. It's described as a well-made wine with good tension and mineral freshness, cool-fruited in style. 【A refreshing and elegant Pinot Noir that defies a challenging vintage】. It offers a broad and pure fruit on the nose, with a cool, melting palate that bursts with flavour and finesse.
🍴 Food Pairing: This versatile red Burgundy would be excellent with roasted chicken or turkey, given its elegant profile and fruit notes. It also pairs well with guinea hen.
🥂 Event Suitability: This wine is suitable for a range of occasions, from casual gatherings to more formal dinners. Its refreshing and approachable nature makes it a good 'house wine' for various palates and seasons. It can be enjoyed now or cellared for a few years.
