FEATURES
Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, formerly Domaine Robert Arnoux, is a highly respected Burgundy estate, particularly since Charles Lachaux took the helm and revolutionized its viticultural and winemaking practices, elevating the quality to new heights. The 2020 Burgundy vintage is widely regarded as excellent, despite challenging conditions such as high temperatures and drought, leading to an unusually early harvest. The red wines from this vintage are noted for their complexity, structure, good acidity, and concentration, with conditions being particularly favourable for Pinot Noir. These wines are described as poised, fresh, tactile, and effortless, with many drinking well now and the best examples offering significant cellaring potential.
Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanée Les Chaumes 1er Cru 2020 presents a deep ruby red with delicate garnet highlights. The nose is complex, offering ripe red fruits, black cherry, subtle floral notes, and the characteristic spicy touch of Pinot Noir. On the palate, it is elegant and refined, with silky tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, persistent finish that hints at truffle and forest floor. Some tasters note a dark, opaque, and inky purple appearance, with dense black and red fruit, and firm yet silky tannins. Aromas of fresh flowers, spices, and wet earth complement intense, ripe cherries on the palate, balanced by vibrant acidity and sweetish tannins.
🍴 This exquisite wine pairs perfectly with aged ribeye steak, herb-crusted rack of lamb, pan-seared foie gras, or a black truffle risotto from Périgord. It also complements duck dishes beautifully.
🥂 Ideal for an important business meal, a wedding anniversary, or an elegant holiday celebration. While enjoyable now, this wine is expected to reach its peak between 2026 and 2035, offering a rewarding experience for those who choose to cellar it. 【Robert Parker 94+ / RVF 95】
