FEATURES
The Louis Roederer Starck 2015 Brut Nature is a remarkable collaboration with designer Philippe Starck, representing a pioneering and honest expression of Champagne. The 2015 vintage was a spectacular year, characterized by full maturity, explosive fruitiness, and dense, concentrated textures, thanks to a hot and sunny summer. This cuvée is a precise blend of Chardonnay (46%), Pinot Noir (37%), and Pinot Meunier (17%) from a south-facing hillside in Cumières, uniquely co-fermented when all three varieties ripen simultaneously. It is crafted with zero dosage, showcasing the raw, unfiltered character of the terroir, and benefits from five years of aging in the cellars. 【 A pioneering, elegant, and honest cuvée, born from a unique collaboration with designer Philippe Starck, showcasing the pure expression of the 2015 vintage with zero dosage. 】
This Champagne displays a pale, luminous gold hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The bouquet is pure, elegant, and rich, offering nuances of ripe fruit, delicate citrus peel (lemon, orange), vanilla, baked apple, and Tarte Tatin, evolving into aromas of nougat. The palate presents a striking contrast: a broad, juicy, and sensual texture from the Cumières clay soils, balanced by a fresh, pure, and mineral backbone due to its zero dosage. Expect notes of ripe citrus fruit, warm stone, and a distinctive umami sensation, leading to a light, energetic, and ethereal finish.
Ideal food pairings include meaty and oily fish such as salmon, mackerel, and tuna, as well as oysters, sushi, and other delicate, briny fare. It also complements lighter canapés beautifully.
Philippe Starck himself describes this Champagne as "a champagne of action, of movement, which breathes intelligence. Tense and lively, bright and elegant. It is a champagne of the day, of immediate pleasure". Its transparency and gastronomic appeal make it perfect for those who appreciate a pure and sophisticated wine.
