FEATURES
Jules Brochet is quickly becoming a recognized name in the grower Champagne world, with Pierric Brochet leading the domaine since 2019. His winemaking style, influenced by his studies and time with Anselme Selosse, emphasizes spontaneous fermentations, oak aging, and a keen focus on texture and terroir, all while maintaining a distinct freshness. The Les Prémices 22 Brut serves as the domaine's entry-level offering, a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, primarily from the excellent 2022 vintage, complemented by 20% perpetual reserve wine dating back to 2015. This Champagne is disgorged with a low dosage of 2g/L and undergoes fermentation and aging in 228L oak barriques, reflecting organic farming practices.
【Rising star in grower Champagne with a distinct focus on freshness and terroir expression】
This Champagne presents a luminous pale gold color with a greenish hue. The nose is youthful and expressive, offering notes of minerals, butter pear, cream, herbs, juniper wood, toasted sesame, roasted nuts, warm sourdough crust, crushed crackers, mandarin oil, warm spices, walnut, and red apples. On the palate, it is smooth with vibrant acidity, showcasing ginger and lime citrus, butter, hints of mint, and a lingering lime juicy bitterness on the finish. Expect bruised orchard fruit, lime zest, cooked citrus, and a pronounced saline edge. It is full-bodied and broad-shouldered, with appreciable concentration and texture, lifted by ripe yet vibrant acidity and a pillowy mousse, embodying an oxi-reductive style.
🍴 This versatile Champagne pairs beautifully with shellfish, crab, lobster, pork, rich fish like salmon or tuna, mild and soft cheeses, roast white meats, white sauce dishes, fried food, and is an excellent choice for starters or white pasta.
🥂 Ideal for celebrations, special dinners, or simply enjoying a delightful moment with friends, this Champagne is a compelling introduction to Pierric Brochet's distinctive style.
