FEATURES
The 2018 Laurent Ponsot Bourgogne Blanc 'Cuvée du Perce-Neige' is a white Burgundy made from Chardonnay grapes. The 2018 vintage in Burgundy was largely very good, notable for being one of the hottest and driest growing seasons since 2003, despite a wet winter and spring.
【A pretty nose composed by notes of essence of pear, apple and a hint of tangerine zest. The sleek, delicious and nicely intense flavors possess very good depth and persistence on the slightly warm finish for a wine of this level.】 The nose is also marked by hawthorn flower, liquorice, lemon, and grapes, with warmer nuances of honeysuckle, pear, brioche, iodine, marzipan, nuts, peach, and pineapple. On the palate, expect fleshy fruit with a fresh, saline, and lean finish featuring liquorice and exotic fruit aromas. Other tasting notes include tree fruit (pear, apple), citrus (lemon, lime), minerals, flint, stone, and sometimes oak, butter, and vanilla notes. Some tasters have noted tropical sweetness but with great balance and texture.
🍴 Food Pairing: This versatile white Burgundy is perfect for a buffet supper of chilled and savory tapas, or a brunch with soft-boiled eggs and herbs, mushrooms stuffed with shrimps, fromage frais and chives, roasted fish, or roasted vegetables with feta, spinach, and ricotta ravioli. It also pairs well with classic Burgundian dishes like gougères (cheese choux pastries), snails, and ham and parsley terrine. Suggested dishes include chargrilled chicken breast, baby gem, and Dijon mayonnaise. It is also recommended with shellfish, pasta, rich fish (salmon, tuna, etc.), mild and soft cheese, and cured meat.
🥂 Event Suggestions: Its freshness, fruitiness, and accessible suppleness make it an excellent choice for casual gatherings, brunches, or as an aperitif. It's a vibrant, easy-drinking wine suitable for various social occasions.
