FEATURES
The 2015 Terroir al Limit Terroir Historic Negre marks the inaugural vintage of the Terroir Històric project, which launched in 2015. This initiative aims to express the complex character of the entire Priorat region, distinguishing itself from Terroir al Límit's single-vineyard wines. It's a blend of Priorat's traditional red varieties, primarily 75% Grenache Noir and 25% Cariñena. The winemaking philosophy emphasizes a "hands-off" approach, featuring hand harvesting, whole cluster natural fermentation, and aging in cement tanks for eight months, with no steel, extraction, or oak used. The project also champions young farmers returning to family vineyards and transitioning to organic farming. 【A "Priorat unplugged" wine, made with a hands-off approach and no oak, aiming for elegance and transparency of terroir】.
Tasting notes reveal crisp red fruit aromas of pomegranate and hibiscus, fennel, and blackberry, underscored by savory accents of smoky garrigue. The palate is shaped by fine-grained tannins, offering a balanced, juicy, and mouthwatering experience. It's described as spicy, fresh, and easy to drink, with fine tannins and great freshness.
This wine is crafted for gastronomy, making it versatile for food pairings. It would complement roasted meats, charcuterie, and a variety of Mediterranean dishes.
Terroir Historic Negre is considered a "vin de soif" (wine of thirst), meant to be enjoyed with emotion and shared among friends and family. Its honest, authentic, and straightforward Priorat character makes it ideal for social gatherings, dinners, and occasions where a genuine expression of the region is desired.
