FEATURES
The 2009 Alvaro Palacios Les Terrasses Velles Vinyes is a deep dark ruby red wine with hints of violet, crafted from 60+ year old vines in the Priorat region. Alvaro Palacios, a key figure in the "new generation" of Spanish winemaking, aimed to create world-class wines, and Les Terrasses is recognized as an excellent example. This wine beautifully embodies the essence of Priorat, with grapes grown on steep vineyards rooted in the region's famous slate soils (llicorella), contributing to its remarkable complexity, depth, and distinctive mineral character. It was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 20% new oak. The bouquet is rich with notes of sweet plums, forest blackberries, oriental spices, and fine mineral nuances, alongside red fruits, coffee, and basil. On the palate, it is bright, round, juicy, silky, and warm, with delicate tannins and flavors of fruit, toast, spices, and chocolate, leading to a long aftertaste with hints of dark chocolate. It offers an exotic, sweet, floral black cherry fruit profile, with a supple, smooth palate of ripe black fruits, good definition, and silky tannins. 【 Embodies the essence of Priorat with remarkable complexity and mineral character from old vines on slate soils 】
