FEATURES
The 2022 Domaine Prieuré Roch Savigny-lès-Beaune Dessus Les Gollardes is a Pinot Noir from Burgundy, grown biodynamically on clay-limestone soils. This parcel, acquired by the Domaine in 2018, is situated on the northern side of the Côte de Beaune, above the village of Savigny-lès-Beaune. The 2022 vintage is marked by balance, where fruit ripeness is paired with a mineral freshness, offering a wine that is both approachable and endowed with beautiful tension. The domaine itself describes this Pinot Noir as having a 'Côte de Nuits' taste, despite being further south than Ladoix, and notes the wines are 'greedy'. 【A biodynamic Pinot Noir with a 'Côte de Nuits' character from Savigny-lès-Beaune.】
Visually, it presents a ruby robe with garnet highlights and silky clarity. On the nose, expect a fresh and deep bouquet of wild strawberry, tangy rhubarb, a hint of nutmeg, and dried flowers, lifted by subtle saline notes and a touch of black tea. The palate offers a velvety yet taut texture, supported by lively acidity and chalky tannins that structure a long, fragrant finish, unfolding with red fruit aromas and gentle spices. Some tasters also note vibrant red cherry and wild raspberry with vivid violet and peony, sprinkled with a touch of clove, and striking, cool minerality. It is currently very backward and needs time in the cellar, with an aging potential until 2028-2030, or even 8-10 years.
This wine is best served between 14 and 16°C in a Burgundy glass. It is recommended to be savored from 2025 onwards. Food pairing suggestions include grilled meats and cheeses. It would also complement duck, goose, and game birds. This wine is ideal for a sophisticated dinner, a special celebration, or for collectors seeking a fine, age-worthy Burgundy Pinot Noir.
