FEATURES
The 2006 vintage for this wine is noted for its rich, albeit somewhat unfocused, fruit, yet it is drinking beautifully now. It has been described as surprisingly strong for the vintage. Le Clos Goillotte is a small, exclusive monopole vineyard within Vosne-Romanée, replanted in 1964-65. Domaine Prieuré Roch is renowned for its unique, unconventional winemaking, including organic/biodynamic practices, whole cluster fermentation, and minimal sulfur use.
As a mature 2006 vintage, this wine is likely at its peak. Be mindful that older corks and capsules can be delicate. Gentle decanting is highly recommended to allow the wine to breathe and to separate any potential sediment, enhancing its aromatic complexity. Serve at a cool cellar temperature, ideally between 16-18°C (60-64°F).
It offers a fresh and lifted nose with complex aromas of red and blue fruits mingling with brown spices. The mouthfeel is concentrated, revealing complex flavors and excellent density for the vintage, with a silky texture, evident stems, and very fine tannins, leading to a bright finish. Expect lovely Vosne spiciness and minerality, along with sweet notes of strawberries and gooseberries, spiced with hints of peony rose and rose petals. The fruit is lush, organic, red, ripe, and delightful. 【Brilliant wine at maturity, ready to enjoy now, with complex flavors and excellent density for the vintage】
