FEATURES
The 2021 Philippe Livera Cote de Nuits Villages Rouge is a very immediate and seductive red with cherry and violet notes. It offers good concentration and a seam of meatiness, with intensity and restraint. Expect red cherry, raspberry, violet, spice, and light earthy notes. The palate is medium-bodied, with fresh acidity, fine tannins, and a silky finish. Aromas of black and red summer berries, licorice, light earth, and baking spices are also present. It is smooth, with medium tannins, and flavors of red berries and juicy plum. The wine presents a charming bouquet of ripe cherries, currants, and delicate earthy notes, accompanied by sweet spices and vanilla, a result of brief aging in oak barrels. On the palate, it is soft and round, with well-integrated tannins and a vibrant freshness, evolving into a long and persistent finish with hints of leather and tobacco. The 2021 vintage is described as an 【exceptional vintage, yielding high-quality grapes】. Damien Livera, the fourth-generation winemaker, has quickly established himself as one of the top young winemakers in the Côte de Nuits, crafting terroir-true, supple, and elegant wines from old vines planted in the 1950s and 60s.
