FEATURES
Domaine de la Pousse d'Or is widely regarded as one of the Burgundian elite, a collector's choice for expressive and memorable wines from Burgundy's most hallowed terroirs. The estate is dedicated to sustainable viticulture, adhering to biodynamic principles, with vineyards cared for without pesticides or herbicides and regularly plowed. This Puligny Montrachet Le Cailleret Premier Cru is sourced from a 0.73-hectare, south-east facing parcel with mostly limestone, rocky, and mineral-rich soils. Historically, Le Cailleret was even considered a 'Grand Cru' but holds its Premier Cru designation due to local politics. The wine is hand-harvested, fermented on indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels (50% new), and aged in barrel (50% new) for one year.
Expect a floral nose with notes of honeysuckle, orange blossom, apple tatin, juicy pear, and fresh quince, nestled in an extremely refined woody and brioche setting. Tasting impressions include aromas of crushed stones, jellied quince, citrus oil, and light baking spices. The palate is mineral and precise, with a silky texture, offering flavors of white peaches, citrus salad, and sea salt. Other descriptors include hints of marzipan, toast, exotic fruits, amber, white flowers, and a powerful finish with great sapid smoothness and incredible persistence. It's often described as delicate, pure, classy, with spicy vanilla and citrus notes, leading to a long and elegant finish. 【Unquestionably one of the Burgundian elite, with a history linked to Romanée-Conti and Clos de Tart.】
