FEATURES
The 2013 Ramonet Chassagne Montrachet Les Morgeots Rouge 1er Cru comes from Domaine Jean-Claude Ramonet's 0.79-hectare parcel in Abbaye de Morgeot, renowned for producing exceptional red wines. The vineyard's slightly southeasterly exposure and complex gravel, clay, and limestone soils provide ideal conditions for Pinot Noir to develop remarkable complexity and aging potential. Ramonet's traditional approach results in powerful yet refined wines that beautifully express their unique terroir. Despite challenging weather conditions in 2013, Burgundy produced a good vintage, and the red wines of Morgeot are known to be balanced, rewarding patience with age.

Tasting notes reveal rich and complex aromas of cherry, strawberry, and red plum, complemented by rose petals, earth, and subtle mineral undertones. The palate is full and fleshy with excellent concentration, offering layers of red and dark fruit, spice, and fine tannins that provide structure and aging potential. It displays a beautiful balance between power and elegance, culminating in a long, persistent finish. The wine has a deep ruby color, with a complex nose featuring notes of undergrowth, blackberry, raspberry, and liquorice. On the palate, there's a great fullness with cherry stone and smoky notes, supported by beautiful tannins on the finish.
🍴 Food Pairing: This wine is an excellent match for rack of lamb with herbs, beef bourguignon, roasted pheasant, aged Burgundy cheeses, and wild boar stew. It also pairs well with tournedos, roasted leg of lamb, coq au vin, Brie cheese, and various duck, goose, and game bird dishes.
🥂 Fit for Event: A superb choice for a sophisticated dinner, especially when paired with game or roasted meats. Its significant aging potential also makes it suitable for cellaring for future celebrations, though it can be enjoyed now with appropriate decanting.
