FEATURES
🏰 Domaine Ramonet's 2013 Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru is a pinnacle of white Burgundy, hailing from a tiny 0.09-hectare parcel on the hillside above Le Montrachet, known for producing wines of 【exceptional elegance and refinement】. The 2013 white Burgundies are generally open and expressive. This extraordinary wine displays pristine aromas of white flowers, citrus zest, and mineral stones, layered with subtle notes of honey, hazelnut, and brioche. On the palate, it reveals incredible depth and concentration, with a perfect balance between power and elegance, leading to a seemingly endless finish. Expect smoky and lightly oaky aromas, ripe apple compote, Asian-style tea, and a broad range of spice nuances. 🍴 This Grand Cru Chardonnay is a magnificent pairing for luxurious dishes such as lobster thermidor, turbot with truffle sauce, or a sophisticated caviar service. It also complements roasted chicken and turkey, as well as aged Comté cheese. 🥂 Ideal for grand celebrations, milestone anniversaries, or as a prized addition to any serious collector's cellar. While enjoyable after a few years, this wine will truly shine and offer greater complexity after a decade or more of cellaring.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Ramonet is a prominent wine producer in the Burgundy appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, France. Ramonet owns more than 15 hectares (37 acres) of vineyards. The primary grape variety is Chardonnay, with a small amount of Pinot Noir also planted. The estate's most important wines are made from Chardonnay from the area's grand cru vineyards, and are highly collectible, often selling for high prices at auction. Domaine Ramonet makes several red wines from Pinot Noir as well. Domaine Ramonet is now run by Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, following the death of their father Pierre in the mid-1990s.
