FEATURES
The 2020 vintage in Burgundy was characterized by excellent ripeness and low yields, resulting in wines of great concentration that still maintained the distinctive elegance and energy of Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir. Despite challenging conditions, the 2020 Burgundy vintage is widely regarded as excellent.
This Gevrey-Chambertin displays a deep, vibrant ruby-red color with purple highlights, indicating both concentration and youth. The nose is expressive and complex, opening with ripe black cherry, blackberry, and raspberry, followed by notes of violet, peony, and subtle forest floor. With aeration, hints of sweet spice, black pepper, and a delicate touch of toasted oak emerge, underpinned by a fine mineral edge. On the palate, it is silky yet dense, with juicy red and black fruits supported by precise, firm but well-coated tannins. The mid-palate shows a fine balance between ripe fruit, fresh acidity, and savory, almost saline nuances, leading to a long finish with lingering notes of cherry, spice, and subtle earthiness. 【Village wine with the soul and intensity of a premier cru】
This wine pairs beautifully with refined yet flavorful dishes such as roast duck or guinea fowl with cherries, herb-crusted rack of lamb, veal with morels, game birds, truffled poultry or porcini risotto, and semi-matured cheeses like Comté, Tomme or Brie de Meaux. It's also an excellent match for beef, veal, and other poultry and game dishes.
Ideal for intimate gastronomic dinners, Burgundy-focused tastings with enthusiasts, or as a centerpiece bottle for special family occasions where elegance and complexity are appreciated.
