FEATURES
Château de Saint Cosme is a leading estate in Gigondas, with a rich history dating back to 1490. The current owner, Louis Barruol, has been instrumental in elevating the estate's quality, converting to biodynamics in 2010. Their unique micro-climate, combined with 60-year-old vines and traditional winemaking, makes their Gigondas a benchmark for the appellation. 【Robert Parker Jr. has praised this estate, calling it the "Le Pin of Gigondas"】. The 2023 vintage is described as especially promising, bursting with aromas of ripe black raspberries, red plums, garrigue, licorice, and incense. It presents a deep ruby-purple hue. The nose is expressive with ripe black raspberry, plum, and lavender, layered with crushed limestone, dried garrigue, licorice, and mesquite incense. On the palate, it offers a dense core of dark orchard berry fruit, framed by powdery whole-cluster tannins and iron-driven acidity, leading to a long, savory, and mineral-laden finish. Other notes include intense blackberry and fig fruit with licorice, violets, and charcoal. It's remarkably fresh and finessed. Wine Spectator rated it 93 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 92 points, Vinous 92 points, and Jeb Dunnuck 91 points.
