FEATURES
The 2020 vintage in Burgundy was notably early, with budburst three weeks ahead of schedule and harvest completed entirely in August. Despite high temperatures and a lack of rain, the grapes maintained excellent health, resulting in wines with wonderful balance. For Faiveley, 2020 saw a challenging volume for reds, but whites, including this Chassagne-Montrachet, yielded almost double at 45 hl/ha. The Morgeot appellation, situated near the Abbey of Morgeot, is known for its deeper, more clayey soils with limestone oolithes.
This wine presents a pale yellow color. The nose is complex, offering a delicate blend of fine floral aromas and woody scents. It has a round attack, and on the palate, a beautiful structure with satisfying acidity that expertly balances the smoothness and fullness derived from oak aging. It is a rich and remarkably long-lasting wine. Expect notes of oak, butter, pear, apricots, lime, bread, dough, stone, spice, honey, minerals, hazelnut, toast, cream, banana, cheese, pineapple, lychee, straw, grass, white cherry, and apple blossom. When aged, it develops into a full-bodied and ripe wine with honey and white flower nuances. 【A wine that expresses its greatness in a beautiful concentration and finesse.】
