750ml
Label : Good Label

The 2018 Georges Mugneret Gibourg Nuits St Georges Les Chaignots 1er Cru is a standout red Burgundy from a vintage largely considered very good, marked by hot, dry growing seasons. Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg is celebrated for its restrained approach to winemaking, allowing the unique character of the site to shine through. Les Chaignots, a Premier Cru vineyard, is strategically located on the Vosne-Romanée side of Nuits-Saint-Georges. This 2018 vintage performed "brilliantly" for the domaine and has garnered high critical acclaim, including 94 points from Wine Advocate and 93 from Vinous. Tasting notes reveal a deepish crimson hue with ripe, sweet, and generous aromas of fresh and dried cherry. The palate offers cassis, black plums, and cherries, intertwined with hints of spices, orange rind, and violets. It is medium to full-bodied, velvety, and concentrated, with lively acids, ripe tannins, and a generous core of fruit. While currently showing ripe red fruit and cherries, its refined tannins suggest it will develop beautifully with time. 【Performed especially well in the 2018 vintage, earning high critical praise】.
Food pairing suggestions: This elegant Pinot Noir is an excellent match for rich, savoury dishes such as duck, goose, and various game birds. Its complexity and structure also make it suitable for other fine dining experiences.
Event suggestions: While ready to drink, this wine has significant ageing potential and is still considered quite young. Experts suggest giving it at least another 5 to 10 years to fully develop its nuances. It is perfect for special occasions, sophisticated dinners, or for collectors looking to cellar a promising Burgundy.
