FEATURES
The 2005 vintage for Burgundy was simply superb, characterized by a warm, easy spring and dry, high temperatures in early summer. Domaine Leflaive, a prestigious winery, crafted this Bienvenues Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru from 100% Chardonnay vines planted in 1958 and 1959. It is widely regarded as one of the best examples of Leflaive's Bienvenues Bâtard-Montrachet since 1985.
Aromatically, it's quite similar to Pucelles with lovely honeysuckle and exotic fruit hints, but with even greater depth. It offers a profound and perfumed nose, soaring from the glass with apple, lemon, white peach, beeswax, pastry cream, a myriad of floral scents including small white flowers and acacia blossoms, a lovely base of chalky minerality, and vanillin oak. The palate is deep, pure, and refined, with a very silky attack, fine mid-palate depth, and an elegant, long finish. Expect notes of honey, minerals, stone, butter, oak, vanilla, citrus, lemon, grapefruit, peach, apple, pear, and tropical fruits. Layers of pear ice cream, toasted hazelnuts, and subtle citrus unfold, balancing richness with freshness. 【Superb 2005 vintage and one of the best examples of Leflaive BBM since 1985】.
🍴 This powerful and generous white Burgundy pairs beautifully with chicken and turkey, as well as shellfish, pasta, rich fish like salmon or tuna, mild and soft cheeses, and cured meats.
🥂 This breathtaking Grand Cru is ideal for gastronomic dinners or special occasions. Given its age, it's recommended to decant it two hours before serving to allow its complex aromas and flavors to fully unfold.
