FEATURES
The 2011 vintage in Burgundy is celebrated for its fresh floral aromatics, bright acidity, and classic transparency. Cécile Tremblay, an elite vigneron, directs viticulture with uncompromising artisanal precision, utilizing old vines averaging over fifty to sixty years old which impart significant concentration to the wine. The 2011 season saw early budbreak followed by a cool, dry harvest, resulting in grapes with complete physiological ripeness, vibrant natural acidity, and moderate potential alcohol. Tremblay adheres to certified organic and biodynamic farming principles. This particular 2011 offering was heavily oversubscribed and is known to be hard to find, solidifying Tremblay's reputation as a rising star among new generation winemakers. 【Old-vine depth and artisanal precision from an elite vigneron】
In the glass, this wine displays a translucent ruby core with delicate brick-amber glints. The nose immediately reveals dried red cherries, wild raspberries, crushed violets, and classic Vosne baking spices, evolving with complex secondary notes of forest floor, black truffles, sandalwood, and orange peel. On the palate, it offers medium-bodied grace, silky fluidity, and refined poise, with melted, fine-grained tannins carrying flavors of tart cherry compote, pomegranate, and warm spices. Further notes include intense ripe red fruits, licorice, subtle floral nuances, spicy, and woody notes, culminating in a long and elegant finish.
Food pairing suggestions include roasted squab, pan-seared duck breast with cherries, herb-crusted rack of veal, or roasted wild mushrooms. It also harmonizes beautifully with soft bloomy-rind or medium-aged cheeses such as Munster or Saint-Nectaire. For a more general approach, it pairs well with beef, veal, poultry, and game.
This mature bottling is currently in a glorious drinking window and can be enjoyed now or cellared securely through 2034+. It's an outstanding Vosne village wine, approachable and delicious, making it perfect for special dinners, celebrations, or a refined evening with fellow connoisseurs.
Serving advice: Serve this mature Vosne-Romanée between 15°C–17°C (59°F–63°F) in standard Burgundy stemware. Decant gently for 20 to 30 minutes prior to service to remove fine natural cellar sediment, but avoid prolonged decanting to preserve its fragile floral bouquet.
