Dujac, Vosne Romanee Aux Malconsorts 1er Cru, 2011

1.5L
Label : Good Label
Level : Neck Level
Capsule : Good Capsule
The 2011 Dujac Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts is a serious red Burgundy that, while still somewhat aromatically timid, offers an intensely spicy nose with notes of ripe black Pinot fruit, violet, and lavender. The palate is medium-bodied with good muscle and minerality, leading to a wonderfully long finish. Critics note its impressive structure and concentration, suggesting it needs time to fully evolve. Neal Martin, for instance, noted a 'stem addition' dictating the style, making it attractive but perhaps lacking the depth of other vintages. 【Outstanding structure and concentration for a serious, age-worthy wine.】
Food Pairing: This powerful Pinot Noir would be an excellent match for rich, savory dishes. Think pan-seared duck breast with cherry reduction, roasted lamb with herbs, or a classic beef bourguignon. For a more East Asian twist, consider a Cantonese-style roasted goose or a rich, umami-driven mushroom hotpot.
Event Suggestions: This wine is ideal for a sophisticated dinner party or a special celebration where a mature, complex red Burgundy is appreciated. Given its need for further aging, it's also a fantastic candidate for cellaring and enjoying in the coming years, perhaps for a significant anniversary or milestone.
