FEATURES
The 2020 vintage in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits was marked by an early harvest, a hot and dry summer with beneficial cooler nights, and generally yielded successful wines, particularly in the Côte de Nuits. Cécile Tremblay's wines from this vintage are celebrated for their forward drinkability, depth, intensity, and structure, making them some of the greatest tasted from 2020. The Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Murgers vineyard, an often-overlooked gem, is gaining significant attention thanks to top producers like Tremblay. 【This wine is highly exclusive due to its limited production, with only 600 cases made and 300 imported for some bottlings】.
This Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru reveals a dark and deep garnet color. The nose is intense, bursting with aromas of mocha, cherry, spices, black cherry, blackberry, and violet. On the palate, it offers an ample and fresh mouthfeel, characterized by dark cherry, nutmeg, and coffee notes, with hints of oak, milk chocolate, vanilla, and earthy undertones. It presents a balanced, expressive, and fluid style with a pleasing, lingering juicy finish.
This versatile red pairs wonderfully with red meat, such as roasted leg of mutton, Black Angus Porterhouse, or Galloway T-bone. It's also an excellent match for duck, goose, game birds, and mature cheeses like Comté.
Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party or a special celebration where a high-quality, expressive red Burgundy is desired. Its balance and structure also make it suitable for short-term cellaring, though it's already delightful to drink.
