FEATURES
Le Clos des Fées' "Les Sorcières" is renowned as a wonderfully voluptuous and easy-to-drink wine. This red blend typically comprises 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache, and 20% Carignan. The Grenache and Carignan grapes are sourced from old vines, ranging from 40 to 80 years old, complemented by younger Syrah vines. The vineyards are predominantly characterized by clay-limestone soils. Winemaker Hervé Bizeul's objective for this wine is to achieve maximum fruit expression while maintaining freshness through slow, moderate extraction. The wine undergoes an 8-month aging process in concrete and stainless steel vats on fine lees.
The 2016 Les Sorcières is described as an intense and lively red, offering aromas of fresh fruits alongside more developed red fruit notes. It is a gourmet, fleshy wine, supported by soft, round yet robust tannins, culminating in a refreshing finish. The wine's fruity characteristics are prominent, with heady notes of forest berry, red plum, and cherry. Subtle accents of chocolate, menthol, and sweet smoke add depth without overpowering the fruit. Vivino community reviews frequently mention black fruit (blackberry, blueberry), red fruit (cherry, raspberry), and earthy notes (smoke, leather). Spices such as pepper, licorice, and anise are also noted. It presents an expressive, enveloping dark color with violet hues, and a soft, luscious, and delicious palate with delicate tannins and fine acidity. 【Voluptuous, easy-to-drink wine with explosive fruit flavors】
