FEATURES
🏰 The 2011 Château Mouton Rothschild emerged from what was considered a "challenging vintage" in Bordeaux, yet the estate produced an "over-achieving effort." The year 2011 was notably hot, sunny, and one of the driest in forty years, with an early start to the growing cycle. Favorable weather returned in September, allowing for full grape ripening and resulting in low yields of structured, deep, and very fresh wines. This red Bordeaux First Growth displays an intense, dark crimson colour with brilliant highlights. The nose is supremely elegant, offering red fruit aromas with touches of spice, graphite, cedar, forest floor, underbrush, licorice, and notes of red and blackcurrants. On the palate, it delivers a smooth, creamy attack with powerful, velvety tannins, showcasing remarkable roundness and attractive length. The finish reveals vanilla and chocolate aromas, complemented by pleasant floral notes. It is full-bodied, with chewy tannins and abundant fruit, described by some as "muscular, solid" and a "baby 1986." 【An "over-achieving effort" in a challenging vintage, showcasing the classic Mouton Rothschild elegance, power, and artistic legacy.】
🍴 This prestigious wine is a perfect match for classic French cuisine, particularly roasted lamb, beef Wellington, venison, and a selection of hard, aged cheeses.
🥂 Ideal for grand celebrations, significant milestones, or a prestigious wine tasting. This wine can be enjoyed over the next 10-15+ years, with some suggesting it's best from 2018 through 2035. Decanting for 2-4 hours is recommended for younger vintages to allow it to fully express its complex character, while older bottles may require less decanting, primarily to remove any sediment.
