Michel Grisard's Prieuré Saint-Christophe Roussette de Savoie is a polished white wine from the Savoie region of eastern France, made from 100% Altesse grapes. Michel Grisard, often referred to as the 'Pope of Mondeuse,' was a visionary winemaker who dedicated himself to elevating Savoie's indigenous grape varieties and converted his vineyard to biodynamic farming in 1994. Since his retirement in 2015, the Giachino brothers have continued his legacy.
【Exceptional finesse and purity from biodynamic farming】 This Roussette de Savoie boasts a brilliant pale gold color and offers a lovely fruity and mineral nose with notes of white flowers and a hint of exotic fruit. On the palate, it reveals a rich, indulgent texture with aromas of pineapple and candied pears, leading to a honeyed and floral finish. Expect citrus, pear, white flowers, herbs, and mineral notes, with a fresh and balanced palate, bright acidity, and a clean finish.
Food Pairing: This food-friendly white wine pairs wonderfully with white meats in sauce and local Savoie cheeses. It also complements light, creamy, buttery cheeses and dishes that are simple to prepare but full of variety, shying away from too much spice.
Event Suggestions: Ideal for a sophisticated lunch, an elegant dinner featuring white meats, or a cheese tasting with regional Savoie specialties. It's a wine that speaks of its place and heritage.
